Ingredients: 1 Tri-tip roast 2 - 2 1/2 lbs. Garlic Powder Salt & Pepper Onion Powder Chile Powder Paprika Directions: 1. With fork, poke holes randomly throughout roast to tenderize. 2. Season roast heavily. If you are lacking any of the above spices don't panic. You can use salt and pepper only if you like. This roast will still taste great. 3. Preheat oven to 325 degrees. 4. Place roast into shallow baking pan fat side up. Place onto center rack in oven. (I have also used a toaster oven to cook this meal and it comes out just as good). Roast at 325 degrees for 45 - 50 minutes. Remove from oven and let sit for 15 - 20 minutes. This step is important, as the meat is still cooking during this period, and if sliced too early all the juices will run out. 5. Cut meat into thin (1/4-1/2") slices at a 45 degree angle. Serve with mashed potato's and a veggie of your choice. (OreIda brand has a frozen mash potatos that you can microwave, and it tastes just as good as fresh homemade). Serves 6 Bon Appetit! |
