Ingredients: 1 1/2 cups old-fashioned rolled oats 1 1/2 cups flour 3/4 tsp baking soda 1/4 tsp salt 1/2 cups plus 2 tblsp unsalted butter, at room temperature 1 cup plus 2 tblsp firmly packed golden brown sugar 1 egg 2 tblsp milk 3/4 tsp vanilla extract 1 cup peeled, cored, and chopped apple 1 cup dried apple 3/4 cup hot carmel glaze Directions: 1. Preheat an oven to 350šF. Spread butter on the baking sheets. 2. Stir together the oats, flour, baking soda, and salt in a bowl; set aside. 3. Combine butter and brown sugar in a large bowl. Using an electric mixer set on high speed, beat until light and fluffy. 4. Reduce speed to low, add the oat-flour mixture and mix until well blended. 5. Mix in the fresh and the dried apples at low speed. 6. Drop the dough by rounded tablespoons onto the baking sheets, spacing them two inches apart. Bake about 15 minutes. Transfer the cookies to someplace where they can cool. 7. Drizzle the cooled cookies with the hot carmel glaze. Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to four days.
