Granny's Ground Chicken Casserole

Submitted By Phillipj

Ingredients:
1 lb ground chicken (white meat)
8oz cream cheese
1 large can of crescent rolls (preferably Pillsbury but NOT "grands"), abt 12oz
1 8x8 or circular pie dish
1 skillet
1 bowl

Directions:
1st: Brown the chicken in the skillet until it is thoroughly cooked but not overdone and make sure it is chopped well, this usually takes about 10 minutes or so and it should look like light brown hamburger meat.

Drain the chicken and mix with the cream cheese.
Spread half the crescent rolls across the bottom of the baking dish(pie dish is usually best), then place the chicken/cream cheese mixture on next.

Cover with the remaining rolls and bake at the recommended temp for the crescent rolls...BUT...cook for a few minutes longer(8-10) than suggested by pillsbury as the chicken in the middle will absorb some of the heat causing the rolls to take longer.

When it browns fairly well across the top remove from the oven and let stand for about 15 minutes.

Serves 2-4, depending on who's eating :) I usually polish it off myself lol

Best if eaten right after cooking, the crescent rolls will get a little moist by the next day!
